I just spent a fair bit of time discussing economics with my friend, LeeAnn, who lives overseas. She says that the discussion in Japan is whether or not the U.S. caused the worldwide recession, or whether it was just one of the biggest dominoes to fall and thus has generated the most attention. I really did laugh that long — I couldn’t stop, and ended up wheezing (I’ve had bronchitis the last few weeks). Anyway, while I don’t always get Marti’s geek comics, this one did hit me just right. The mouseover refers to the newest book by Neal Stephenson (sorry, now there should actually be a mouseover!).
Marti got me a Starbucks coffee this morning, and we were both amused by the quote on his cup. I took a look at mine and thought it was good, too, considering the amount of political debating I’ve been (compulsively) doing. (I really cannot help myself). Anyway, here they are:
