New Car!
Okay, I have to admit that I am writing this because I am procrastinating at work. YES, I AM WRITING THIS AT WORK, BUT IT’S MY LUNCH HOUR. That being said, I’m probably going to eat some of the yummy hummus and pita + salad I bought while hunched over my desk trying to fix [...]
Humor takes the edge off
While I know I just went through several rants, I also know that most of them are just my extremely biased opinions. After all, there is not much I can do about changing the world — only about changing myself. I try to remember that, along with the Serenity Prayer, when I feel [...]
Some excellent websites, I tell you.
Things are better on the home front, and I am working on the mound of paperwork for graduation at present (well, not at present, exactly…but in a few minutes). Anyway, I recently discovered this site:

Maya: (Practically rolling her eyes) “Princess Ariel.”
Me to Marti: “I think we’re going to regret this someday.”

The U.S. [...]
I laughed for about five minutes
I really did laugh that long — I couldn’t stop, and ended up wheezing (I’ve had bronchitis the last few weeks). Anyway, while I don’t always get Marti’s geek comics, this one did hit me just right. The mouseover refers to the newest book by Neal Stephenson (sorry, now there should actually be a mouseover!).
Dated but fun
A friend sent me this entertaining video, which, lucky for me, had already been uploaded to YouTube. This is set in Kosovo rather than Iraq, but I got a big kick out of it and I can totally imagine the Okinawa crowd doing something like this…thinking of Erik, Matt, Matt and Jason with water bottles [...]
