At work today I was sitting in the Children’s Room, typing at the computer when the female police officer sauntered in. She casually leaned up against the doorway behind me and and said, from the corner of her mouth,
“So who’s that guy?”

“What guy?”

“That older guy. Over there.”

“Older guy?”

“Yeah, the one sitting there by himself. I don’t see any kids with him. He’s just reading a book. I mean, what’s a guy like that doing in the kid’s section, reading, all by himself?”

“You mean the guy in the black shirt.”

“Yeah, yeah, that guy.”

“That’s my husband.”

  1. I’m so disappointed in you! Today could have been the day you toped Heather Armstrong’s blog and it would have only taken a little bit of work… “Officer, come to think of it he’s been staring at little boys all day long!”

  3. This makes me feel like an introduction to a suspense film. However, what a
disappointment and a relief the ending was! Y Tande.
