Feets

There comes a time in every parents’ life that they must make sacrifices for their child. Today was one of those days.

I had to give up “feets.”

The Sweater

I have spent the last three days in the midst of a terrible, terrible flu. Fever, shakes, chills…I had forgotten what the regular, old non-avian flu was like. I think the chills are karma; I constantly make fun of people in the southwest for wearing wool coats and the like in winter (winter = <70 degrees). Nevertheless, the past three days I have been so cold from fever that I actually pulled out “The Sweater.”

You may note that after 18 months of blogging, I have finally decided to change the appearance of this site. This just about corresponds with how often I change furniture around in my house…namely, never, or once every several years, depending on whether or not it is completely necessary. For those psychos who like to move things around every 6 weeks or so, enjoy the change. I may actually try out some new themes from time to time. Do note that they are not created by me — artists are noted at the bottom of the page.

At work today I was sitting in the Children’s Room, typing at the computer when the female police officer sauntered in. She casually leaned up against the doorway behind me and and said, from the corner of her mouth,
“So who’s that guy?”

“What guy?”

“That older guy. Over there.”

“Older guy?”

“Yeah, the one sitting there by himself. I don’t see any kids with him. He’s just reading a book. I mean, what’s a guy like that doing in the kid’s section, reading, all by himself?”

“You mean the guy in the black shirt.”

“Yeah, yeah, that guy.”

“That’s my husband.”

The Barf Post

This entry courtesy of Jen, who caused me to relive this painful memory.

Jen came down today to tell me about her most recent marathon adventure. Now, I know it’s hard to believe that my large, cumbersome, pregnant body ever ran a marathon, but I did run a half marathon when I was in Japan. (more…)
