Well, the car did not get totalled, they have decided, oh the insurance company, in their ultimate wisdom, to fix the car. The damages came to about 60% of the original value. We plan to sell it and keep our Volvo, so…anyone want a Ford Focus? Cheap?

So, I finally finished my wench costume and the results are below. The vest is reversible, a tricky little maneuver that took quite a bit of extra time, and I had to do the eyelets twice. I added the braiding as well, which is sewn directly into the seam. My poor sewing machine nearly pooped out sewing those — there are actually seven layers of fabric at the seam: the front, the facing, the inner lining (where I attached the boning), the back and the braiding, and the front and back are doubled so that makes seven. Anyway, I had a lot of fun making it and Marti had even more fun taking pictures. I will also be in “Peermalion,” a play the local SCA barony is putting on at a gathering in early November (on my birthday, for those in the know. By the way, I will be 26 this year. Don’t forget.)
