I’m nesting. I’ve spent five days cleaning my house and tonight I actually drove to Target and bought “Simply Shabby Chic” fabric storage bins to hold my socks. Of course, I also cruised the baby aisles and bought pink and white baby mittens. My life has quieted and I’m feeling less stressed out. I’ve been contacting plastic surgeons and finally getting answers; I guess this is why I’m a librarian, because information is the ultimate drug for me. Just knowing what to expect helps me — it’s the unknown that frightens me.
Ben is now scheduled for surgery to place tubes in his ears, and hopefully his hearing will mend itself after that. We are hoping for the best. I took the advice of a friend and shed as many responsibilities as I could, dealing only with those things I absolutely have to deal with, and this has lightened my load enough I don’t feel like sobbing most of the day.
In other news: still having lots of contractions, still very tired. Ben got some cool Hawaiian shirts from a friend today, which will go very well with his “very, very, very cool sunglasses.” They are spy-kid sunglasses from Wendy’s or something, and they are a huge hit. He’s been inseparable from them for a while now. He did a great little dance with them, which we recorded, and as soon as I figure out how, I will post it. Until then, have a lovely, more cheerful day.
