Law School and other wild stories

While I know most of you only browse this sight for pictures of Ben (and I mean you, grandparents), I do occasionally want to pontificate. I recently discovered I can go to law school for $74.63 a semester, here at the ABA-accredited University of Arizona School of Law. Since I actually completed my English/Philosophy major at Gonzaga University for the purpose of attending law school, this is sorely tempting. But, Ben is only two — can I really handle the rigors of law school with a toddler? Or, more importantly, is it worth it? I am so indecisive I would rather just put out a poll — what should Missy do? Nursing? Wildlife Biology? Library Science? ESL? Law? Can I have a vote?

I’m going to go with yes!? As I have no kids, nor a lengthy dealing with them, I feel that I can base my opinion off of the fact that as an all-knowing man, I don’t see what could be so difficult? Best of luck!

Au contraire, daughter! I take equal delight in your writing. The details expressed in your unique style are tremendously heartwarming and give me (sadly) a vicarious sense of “being there”. Hope you and Ben are having a satisfying and relaxing visit.

Oh, my vote. I favor the immensely fulfilling and wildly varied life that comes with being a Mommy. There’s time enough for other serious and time-consuming pursuits later, but these days and years of having small children to nurture are fleeting. Old Oriental proverb – If you’re planting for a year, sow rice. If you’re planting for a decade, plant a tree. If you’re planting for a lifetime, educate a child.
